The Del Rubio Triplets were originally discovered by Bob Hope. They appeared on Pee-wee’s Playhouse, Married with Chidren, Full House, The Golden Girls, and Night Court. They often performed acoustic guitar renditions of pop-songs such as Devo’s Whip It, Madonna’s Like a Virgin, and Ding Dong The Witch is Dead.

Grammy Award winner, Allee Willis, rediscovered them in 1985, which directly led to their pop fame. The Del Rubio Triplets performed her song, Neutron Dance, which is the very first pop song they performed and the song they performed on television most often.

Milly Boyd supported the Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Foundation and Museum through her generous donations of Bolling family artifacts original to the Bolling home, birthplace of Edith Bolling Wilson and childhood home of her grandfather, Rolfe E.
A memorial fund has been established by co-founders of the Museum, Bill and Farron Smith; fan and friend of Milly’s, Craig Bara; and cousin, Cary Fuller to honor the life of Milly Boyd and the love of the Triplets for their great aunt, Edith Bolling Wilson.

Before BB&T consolidated its Wytheville bank branches, The Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum and the bank were neighbors. Now the two are partners in helping preserve history – specifically the history of Edith Bolling Wilson, First Lady to President Woodrow Wilson. BB&T is a new sponsor of the Downtown Historic Wytheville museum, birthplace and childhood home of Mrs. Wilson.

“BB&T recognizes the benefits The Edith Bolling Wilson Birthplace Museum brings to the community The Museum Strengthens the downtown area and the visitors it attracts will provide added tax revenue through sales, meals and lodging. As a strong community supporter, we believe in sharing Mrs. Wilson’s story and promoting the Town of Wytheville. We are fortunate to have the draw of a First Lady in our town and we are happy to support it with this donation.,” said Artie Hall, Vice President, Sales and Service Leader of the Southwest Region Administration.

The Museum is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization. It is solely run on private donations, fundraising activities, and grants. Having sponsors such as BB&T and other Foundation supporters is what allows the Museum to remain open to the public free of charge. It is also a boom to the local community, as the Museum attracts visitors from all over the United States, bringing more tourism commerce to the area.
